Registration fees

We are thrilled to welcome members of the digital humanities community across the globe to our conference. As this is our first fully-virtual event, we wanted to share with the community a bit about the financial aspects of the conference.

What is included in these fees?

Unlike previous events held on a hosting campus, the 2021 conference is not supported by university funding. As a result, the organization must draw from incoming registration fees to cover costs. In keeping with ACH’s mission to be as inclusive as possible, the Steering Committee worked tirelessly to keep the registration costs as affordable as possible. This includes reaching out to ACH members to find volunteers that will donate their time and expertise to serve as A/V support during the conference.

ACH 2021 will take place in a virtual format, which means there are no physical meeting spaces or amenities such as coffee breaks for the conference. There are, however, other costs associated with the conference.

Your registration pays for:

  • Honoraria, so that we can compensate our keynotes for their work and time
  • ASL translators for the keynote presentations to provide accessibility
  • Zoom licenses that will allow us to host synchronous panels and discussion sessions
  • Conferencing software that streamlines the submission and review process

We’ve set the registration fees to cover these costs while also attempting to accommodate the needs of members of the community. We thank you for supporting ACH through your fees and your active participation in our events.
